Four New Ships to Sail in 2022!
While other industries spent the covid-shutdown of the last few years tightening their belts and selling off assets, the cruise industry did just the opposite. They knew that pent-up demand for travel and a desire to get out and explore would mean even more demand for cruises! Here are four brand new ships that are ready to welcome you aboard!
🚢 Virgin Voyages - Scarlet Lady
Who minds waiting on such a beautiful lady? After an 18-month delay, Virgin’s Scarlet Lady finally made her debut in Miami in October 2021. This adults-only ship takes guests (*ahem* Virgin prefers I call them Sailors) on itineraries throughout the Caribbean, including stops at their exclusive Beach Club on Bimini. The ship is eco-friendly too - you’ll find the latest energy-saving tech on board, no single-use plastics, and no buffets to cut down on food waste. She will be joined by her sister ships Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady in 2022, sailing the Mediterranean and Greece.
🚢 Atlas Ocean Voyages - World Navigator
Atlas Ocean Voyages is a newcomer to the cruise industry but they are already making a splash with their ultra-luxe World Navigator. This exclusive ship holds just under 200 guests but boasts a host of amenities including 6 dining options! It will spend half the year sailing to small ports throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and South America before heading to Antarctica for an epic season of adventure sailings! Sailings are all-inclusive and include flights, an excursion in each port, and premium beverages. Atlas Ocean Voyages has 4 more ships debuting in the next few years, so they’re certainly a line to keep your eye on!
🚢 Uniworld River Cruises - S. S. São Gabriel
Uniworld River Cruises’ newest ship and the newest ship on Portugal’s Douro River is the S.S. São Gabriel. With just 100 guests on board you’ll enjoy top tier service as you sail through Portugal and Spain. With quaint villages, acres of vineyards, and historic sites, this area is one of Europe's best kept secrets, and there’s no better way to experience it than a river cruise with Uniworld.
🚢 Royal Caribbean - Odyssey of the Seas
Another long-delayed ship, Odyssey of the Seas had its maiden voyage in November 2021. If you’re less the “relax by the pool” type and more “adventure every minute” kind of cruiser - this is the ship for you! You have to work to be bored onboard Odyssey where you can find bumper-cars, RipCord by iFLY skydiving simulator, an onboard laser tag venue, VR theatre, FlowRider surfing simulator, and more. Though if you are the relaxing type (aka me), the ship also has a luxurious 2-level spa and fitness center and adults-only Solarium.
